The best earpiece I have used yet!
"Background: I work in a prison. So it can get loud in a pod full of inmates. I also have moderate tinnitus. So I can hear the radio but not what's being said without having the radio turned up so loud that the whole pod can hear the radio. Not good. So I have tried several ear pieces over time and have some experience with wearing them for 12 to 16 hour days. The Good: So to start off with. This ear piece is super small. It fits inside your ear canal. I was never worried about the visibility of the ear piece but having it not so visible has been nice. Most important the sound is crystal clear! Other ear pieces I have had to have my radio turned up half way. Not a big deal really. But this one on the first que up of the mic at halfway it about blew out my ear! So down the volume went. This ear piece stays in place all day when worn properly ( more about that later). This ear piece does not block sound I can put a phone up to my ear and hear just fine without discomfort. I have total spatial awareness when wearing the piece properly. The wire being so thin and so light eliminates any weird pressures on the ear that I have had with tube style ear pieces. Tips and Hints: Okay so when I first got my ear piece I used the small cushion that comes on it. Yes I watched the video. I liked the piece then but it kept falling out all day, especially if I was chewing my lunch. So I thought maybe the bigger cushion was for me. I tried it the next day and used it for a week. I found that it seemed to block sound. made me feel like I had a head cold. messing with it one day I pushed it further into my ear than I have before and I found the sound came back. but there was discomfort. so I tried the small piece and pushed it all the way into the ear canal. So the secret here is yes that thing goes all the way into the ear canal. There is some getting used to it. It feels like a small itch inside your ear for awhile. but that goes away and I forget I got it in until I it out at the end of the day. very comfortable. If it seems to block sound it probably needs to be pushed in a bit more. if its falling out probably needs pushed in a bit more. Don't just shove it in as far as you can. This will cause discomfort. What I do is put it in the ear canal and then apply slight gentle pressure with my finger and let the ear piece find its way into the ear canal. I find if I am in a hurry and push it in I definitely feel uncomfortable pressures. However, if I just let it slide in with gentle pressure it will go all the way in with no uncomfortable pressure. Then you forget its even in place its so unobtrusive anyway, now I love this piece. So Is It Worth The $$$?: Yes I am glad I bought it. I can buy a lot of the tube style ear pieces at 2 for $15 at this price. But they seem to fail anywhere between 3 and 6 months. I had my original for almost two years. It still works but the clear plastic coating started to fry. I bought a new one and started to use it so that I would not run into warranty issues at the small possibility I would need it. Now I Have had that one for over a year and it still works amazing! It is not as loud as my original so I do have to have my radio turned up more than before. But that is manufacturing differences in speakers and is not an issue to me whether my radio is turned up 1/4 turn or 1/2 turn or 3/4 turn. The point is that it is still crystal clear and the most comfortable ear piece I have ever used. I purchased the original one in October 2022, This has been an excellent piece. I have had only on issue ever. The outer shell came off in my ear. I have seen at least one other review (on Amazon)for this happening. This was a little concerning but my girlfriend pulled it out with tweezers. To be honest I had an incident it got ripped out of my ear and may have weakened the shell/base connection. I cleaned everything with rubbing alcohol and super glued the piece back together. Still WORKS! super crisp and clear sound and still the most comfortable piece I have worn."
